Senior Systems Administrator

Randstad is currently working with a Qld Government Department to find a Senior Systems Administrator for an initial contract until EOFY with further 6 months extension. This role is based in Brisbane CBD with WFH flexibility.

Client: Qld Government Department
Contract Length: 2 months initial with a further 6 month extension, and potential of further extension past that point.
Maximum Pay Rate: $879.33 a day inclusive of superannuation

What You Will Do:

• Provide expert third-level support and maintenance for departmental IT infrastructure to ensure reliable and available services.
• Coordinate operational maintenance upgrades and enhancements, undertaking change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning.
• Research and resolve complex technical issues, providing feedback to stakeholders to ensure agreed service levels and standards are met.
• Contribute to client relationships by performing analysis of infrastructure environments and recommending strategic improvements.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, promoting the appropriate use of technologies and continuous improvement of operations.

• Proven experience working as a senior technical resource within an ITIL-based operating environment using tools like ServiceNow.
• Strong ability to work with limited supervision while building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Technical proficiency in enterprise infrastructure such as Nutanix Hyper-Converged systems or Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
• Expertise in Microsoft environments, including Windows Server 2022, RDS, and management tools like SCCM, SCOM, or Entra-ID.
• The ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, adjusting priorities quickly in a fast-paced specialist team environment.
